Sixth Form Celebration Week

Year 11 have been exploring Sixth Form options at St John Fisher this week. Gifted with a Prospectus, video talk by Assistant Headteacher- Sixth Form and visits from Sixth Form Ambassadors have all taken place to help students make the right choices next year.  Each subject will also be engaging Year 11 students in an A Level type activity to enable them to get a ‘taste’ of studying that subject at A Level. There has also been the opportunity to visit the Sixth Form stand outside the library at designated lunchtimes to obtain further information about subjects or life as a Sixth Former. A ‘Sixth Form Subject Fair’ will also be held at the beginning of December to help students find out more about A Level subjects and career pathways.

A huge thank you to all those Year 11s that have made the Sixth Form Team feel extremely useful! We look forward to welcoming them to our Fisher’s Family in Year 12 next year.

UK Parliament Week 2020

Sixth Formers have been embracing the opportunity to have their say on issues important to them this week as we celebrate UK parliament Week. Form time and Debating Club have been devoted to encouraging student to discuss topics and issues affecting them and finding ways to make a difference in areas such as crime, homelessness, mental health etc Students have also been encouraged to register to vote. #UKPW @YourUKParl
