PUPIL – ICT CONTRACT

The ICT facilities at St John Fisher are provided for members of the School to use:

  •  As an aid to academic work – in lessons, for private study, homework and research;
  •  As a means of communication between staff, pupils, parents and the general public.

Pupils are expected to use the School equipment and software solely for these
purposes.

Security and privacy
  I understand that hacking of any nature is strictly prohibited. I will not attempt to
access material belonging to anyone else without specific permission.
  I will use only my own User Identification to log on to the network. I will not reveal
my password to any other person. I understand that keeping my password secure is
my responsibility.
After logging on, I understand that I should not leave a networked computer
unattended, even for a short time, without logging off.

Use of inappropriate material and software
  I will not load or download inappropriate material or software from the Internet, e.g.
games or chain mail. I will not attempt to access restricted sites or to use ‘chat services’. I understand that I may not under any circumstances send or access racist, obscene or illegal material. I understand that the School tracks material accessed on the web and that I am responsible for all material accessed using my User Identification.

E-mail
I will use e-mail and its associated facilities including the address book in a sensible and appropriate manner. In particular, I will not send or forward offensive or inappropriate material to individuals or to groups of e-mail users. I understand that ‘chain mail’ and related items are forbidden.

School computers
I will not modify the standard settings for any School computers. I will not play games on School computers.

Printing
I understand that I am expected to use the printers for Schoolwork only and that I may not print excessive quantities without permission.

Pupil Laptops
No student will connect a laptop computer to the School network without the prior
written consent of the Network Manager.

Remember
Staff may remotely watch and control your screen at any time;
The use of chat lines and messaging is forbidden;
The School reserves the right to examine and to monitor any Internet sites visited
