Year 9 Options (March 2026)

Year 9 is an exciting and important phase in your education, and you will be making choices about what subjects to study in Years 10 and 11.

At St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy, we aim to provide a broad and balanced education for all our students, enabling them to develop a wide range of knowledge and skills to support them in their future choices. The information provided here is intended to guide you through the Options process and to give you some of the information and support you will need to help you make the right choices for you.

Year 9 Options: Key Dates

Year 9 Parents’ and Options Evening	Thursday 12^th March 2026
Deadline for Option choices via Options Online	Friday 27^th March 2026
Options Confirmation	Summer Term 2026

Parents/carers and students are invited to attend our Year 9 Parents’ and Options Evening on Thursday 12^th March 2026 where you will be able to discuss your child's progress with their Core subject teachers in English, Maths, Religious Studies and Science.

There will also be a limited number of appointments available to meet with Option subject teachers. Alternatively, you will be able to visit our Option subject areas and displays, where you can speak to staff and find out more about each Option course on offer.

Students will complete their Option choices using Options Online. Students will receive guidance on how to complete their Options using Options Online during form time and ICT lessons. The deadline for the completion of Option choices via Options Online is Friday 27th March 2026.
