Anti Bullying

We want you to enjoy your time at St John Fisher.

Bullying always makes people upset and we will not accept this.

If you feel you are getting bullied, or know someone who is getting bullied, it is very important that you speak up about it.

There are two different ways that you can do this at St John Fisher:

  • If you feel able, please speak to your Form Tutor or Head of Year. Do not feel worried about doing this, or about ‘grassing someone up’. We can only help if we know about it.
  • You may prefer to speak to your parent or carer. This is absolutely fine, but please ask them then to contact school so that we are aware of the situation. They can ring your Head of Year through the main school line on 01924 527000, complete the bullying form below or email us at bullying@stjohnfisher.org.uk - Once you complete the form or email, a member of staff will then be alerted to this and someone will come and see you confidentially the next day at school to see how we can best support you.

How do I get help outside of school hours or I don't feel able to talk to staff at school?

It is often at home when we reflect on what has happened during the day that we feel we need to speak to someone or 'get if off our chest'.

If you feel you need urgent support and you feel it cannot wait to speak to a member of staff when you are next in school, then you should speak to a parent or carer if you feel you are able to (families might often initially react with shock - usually because they are upset they were not aware, but they will want to support).

If you do not feel able to talk to someone at home, then Childline is one of the best places to get immediate help.  You can get more information by

Visiting their website for more information https://www.childline.org.uk/info-advice/bullying-abuse-safety/

Call 0800 1111 (this is staffed 24/7 by trained counsellors - you can even ring and not speak and they will just talk to you first)

You can create and account with them to access counsellor services and message boards of support https://www.childline.org.uk/login/?returnPath=/locker/
