Diminishing the Difference.
Our aim is for all pupils to acquire a breadth of knowledge and skills, so they have access to more opportunities in the future.
It is important that we diminish the differences that occur between our disadvantaged pupils and their more advantaged peers. The background a pupil comes from should not determine the chances and opportunities they have in life. By removing barriers that our disadvantaged pupils face, they will be able to reach their potential and will acquire a breadth of knowledge and skills that will give them access to more opportunities when they leave school.
Our strategy is a 3-year plan and consists of three key areas; teaching, targeted academic support and wider strategies. To achieve our desired outcomes in each of these areas, actions have been developed using evidence-based research and adapted for our school context using our professional expertise and knowledge of our pupils and school community.
