Visit to Kirklees College
On Friday 26th May, Mrs Hodson and myself took eight students to visit the Hair and Beauty department of Kirklees College. The girls had a talk about the courses offered and the entry requirement, a tour of the facilities, but then were hands on with the equipment, curling, straightening, crimping and plaiting hair, as well as giving each other a beauty hand massage in the beauty parlour.
The students were a real credit to St John Fisher, behaving impeccably and asking useful questions about the courses, or skills being learnt. Many of the girls showed real talent, as this is clearly something they would be very good at as a future career option. Kirklees College very keen to work with us too, so more mini visits to look at different courses can be arranged in the future.
