Year 8 Retreat to Ampleforth

Year 8 students enjoyed a wonderful Retreat at Ampleforth. On arrival the students were welcomed by Fr Henry and then toured the Abbey Church with Fr Kentigan.

The theme of Hidden Treasure was embraced by all when listening to the Pearl of Great Price from Matthew’s Gospel.

We unpacked our ‘Treasure’  with a variety of activities using art, decoupage, glass painting, keeping a diary, music and discussion.

After a Treasure Hunt we enjoyed a quiz around the Visitor Centre followed with  a Q & A session .

Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and Fr Eamonn Hegarty very kindly joined us on Friday to celebrate Mass in Alban Roe Chapel.

It was a time of much fun, prayer and sharing.
